About us

http://www.BringingVision.org is the web site for the Changing Lives initiative, which was started in 2005.  Peter and Margaret Gee flew out to Thailand in November 2004 to visit their daughter, who was working as a doctor with one of the medical agencies on the Thai/Burma border. Although not able to enter Burma themselves, they heard and saw enough to be deeply moved by the conditions under which some people live.

During the flight home Margaret sent up a desperate prayer to God asking ‘How can I make a difference?’ As she thought of the photographs in her camera, such as those taken along the bank of the River Kwai, the idea came to make some greetings cards using those pictures. And so it all began…

What we do

We have learnt a lot since our early days and much of that learning has been by ‘trial and error’.  We are still a very small team of just 5 or 6 ladies who make cards.  Each one is hand-made and most are either unique or of a very limited range.  That makes it very difficult to catalogue them!

The range is extensive, with birthday cards for men, ladies and children, cards for special birthdays, get-well cards, sympathy, thank-you, wedding, general anniversary, special anniversary, baby congratulations, cards for new grandparents, cards left blank for your own message…and many more.

A range of hand-made crafts are also being introduced – including fridge magnets, hand painted tea-lighted holders, hand decorated candles, cross-stitch pictures and jewelry.

The cards and craft have given us the opportunity to introduce the work of Changing Lives and to promote interest and support in our various projects.

Why we do it

No one in the Changing Lives team is paid. Nothing is taken for administration, petrol or labour. It is all an act of love. So why do we do it? It is because we are Christians and although we do not need to earn God’s approval, we know of His heart for the poor which was demonstrated by the attitude of Jesus, and we want to express something of God’s heart to those He brings to our attention.
